Association of Development Officers                           
A nonprofit membership organization dedicated to the advancement of fundraising and philanthropy in the Hudson Valley Region.

Association of Fundraising Professionals
A nonprofit association working to advance philanthropy through advocacy, research, education and certification programs.  Local chapters include Greater New York and Westchester.

Grants Professionals of Lower Hudson
A membership association of grant writers working for nonprofit organizations, grant writing consultants, and other fundraising professionals dedicated to improving the profession of
 grant writing, including grant research and writing, grant tracking and grant follow-up.

Publications and Journals

Chronicle of Philanthropy
A print and online resource for nonprofit leaders, fund raisers, grant makers, and other people involved in the philanthropic enterprise. The Chronicle has been connecting the nonprofit world with news, jobs, and ideas and is published 18 times per year. The web site is updated throughout the day and access to the premium content is available only to people with paid print, digital or online subscriptions.

HCorporate Philanthropy Report
A monthly publication for corporate giving professionals of the Committee Encouraging Corporate Responsibility.

Non profit Quarterly
A quarterly magazine that provides a forum for critical nonprofit management issue.

Non Profit Times
A print and on-line resource published 22 times per year and addresses all business functions of the nonprofit organization including the latest news, fundraising, financial management, direct marketing, technology and legal and human resource issues.

Philanthropy News Digest
A daily service of the Foundation Center, it is an online compendium, in digest form, of philanthropy-related articles and features. The Digest also contains job listings, RFP’s and outside commentary and opinion.

Stanford Social Innovation Review
A quarterly publication of Stamford University to advance, educate, and inspire the field of social innovation by seeking out, cultivating, and disseminating research- and practice-based knowledge. Also includes website, blogs, conferences and webinars.

Westchester County Business Journal
The only weekly local business newspaper covering Westchester County, with news and information helpful to business people and profiles on entrepreneurs and professionals, which are inspirational to readers.

Alliance for Non Profit Management
An association of individuals and organizations devoted to improving the management and governance capacity of nonprofits. They convene a major annual conference, networks colleagues year-round online, and provides member discounts on books and other publications. 

A New York-based nonprofit corporation dedicated to identifying and recruiting high impact board members for the nonprofit community.

A website that connects nonprofit boards and new leaders. The site is designed to be a common technological platform for a national collaborative network of communities working locally to enhance nonprofit board governance.

An organization dedicated to increasing the effectiveness of nonprofit organizations by strengthening their boards of directors. BoardSource offers membership, publications, and other resources about governance

The Bridgespan Group
A nonprofit that helps nonprofit and philanthropic leaders develop strategies and build organizations that inspire and accelerate social change.

BBB Wise Giving Alliance
Offers guidance to donors on making informed giving decisions through charity evaluations, various “tips” publications, and publishes the quarterly Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Guide.

Charity Channel
An on-line professional network created for nonprofit professionals.

Governance Matters
Provides nonprofit leaders with resources needed to strengthen their boards. Through advocacy, peer-learning roundtables and workshops, and educational resources, Governance Matters fosters an open exchange of ideas throughout the nonprofit sector.

A searchable database of more than 620,000 nonprofit organizations in the United States. Created by Philanthropic Research, Inc., it collects and presents comprehensive information about nonprofit organization

Internal Revenue Service
The IRS website offers answers to frequently asked questions about tax-exempt organizations and sample forms and descriptions of nonprofit reporting requirements.

The Nonprofit Coordinating Committee of New York (NPCC)
NPCC has over 1,300 members in the New York metropolitan area and publishes a monthly newsletter, offers workshops and roundtables on management issues, provides low-cost vendor services, convenes a monthly Government Relations Committee and maintains a website with writings on matters pertaining to operating a nonprofit.

Nonprofit Westchester
Nonprofit Westchester (NPW) is a membership collective comprised of Westchester nonprofit organizations. The mission of NPW is to strengthen the impact, capacity and visibility of the nonprofit sector in Westchester County for a more just and caring community.

The ProBono Partnership
Provides business legal services to qualifying nonprofit agencies in Connecticut, New Jersey and New York.

Support Center for Non Profit Management
The Center develops nonprofit leaders and organizations at all stages of their development, including offering workshops, consulting, turnaround executive search, grantmakers services and professional development.

The Volunteer Center of the United Way
The Volunteer Center is a resource for individuals and businesses looking for meaningful volunteer activities and nonprofits in search of volunteers. The Volunteer Center is also where nonprofits and businesses come for training and support in creating effective volunteer programs.

Foundation Center
The Center maintains a comprehensive database on U.S. and, increasingly, global grantmakers and their grants. The Center provides access to information through its website and at its libraries and cooperating collections nationwide.

Association of Small Foundations
United States national association of foundations with small or no staff. Provides forum for members to discuss operations and management issues.

Council on Foundations
A nonprofit membership association of grantmaking foundations and corporations, with a mission to promote responsible and effective philanthropy.
